Eileen Meehan Receives 2010 Ethics AwardJune 15, 2020. Eileen Meehan of White Plains was awarded the 2010 Jim Gardner Business Ethics by the Rotary Club of White Plains.Mrs. Meehan was selected for her patience, understanding and compassion for the residents at Westchester Meadows, a continuing care retirement community in Valhalla where she is currently the Dining Room Manager. She is held in high esteem for her professionalism and willingness to “go the extra mile” for the welfare of the residents at Meadows, and also for the way she treats her staff. Other Meadows employees have great respect and loyalty towards her. Eileen O’Hagan came to the United States from Dublin, Ireland, with her parents and three siblings in 1957. The O’Hagans settled in The Bronx where Eileen attended school. Eileen began her career in dining room management at the Scarsdale Golf Club, where she worked for 20 years. She then worked for Cambridge House in Ossining, before joining the Meadows. The award honors business people who exemplify Rotary’s high ethical standards. The award is given in memory of James D. Gardner, an active White Plains Rotarian and White Plains resident who died suddenly last December. Mrs. Meehan lives in White Plains with her husband, Eamon.
